Im forever trying different avs, anti-trojans,spyware scanners etc.Recently many well known malware programmes claim to detect spyware / adware etc but i wonder just how good they really are?.I installed a very old adware programme.bonzibuddy (using the setup file from thier homesite).Boclean doesnt bother with at all.Trojanhunter detects the file if i rightclick the setup file or do a complete scan, however the trojanhunter guard does nothing and lets it install.A squared similarly doesnt detect anything and also lets it install (i am using the trial version which has updated and seems to run the resident guard ok so im assuming the guard is running, as its ids did detect nod updating)).Nod 32 (not the beta) with all settings vamped up detects nothing and also lets it install. The "usual" adware/spyware programmes detect it no problem.Im just wondereing whether the claims of many of the antitrojans and antivirus companies about detecting adware and spyware are really a little misleading when some of these "top choice" ones cant even detect bonzibuddy.Id be intrested in other opinions on this subject.
